BIRDGER

"BIRDGER" uses a humorous and satirical shooting style to alert the audience to the eventual loss of self from blindly adhering to societal aesthetic training.

One-month solo stop-motion animation production project

The story of the flat-born bird striving to alter its appearance to match conventional beauty standards serves as a poignant metaphor for the dangers of blindly pursuing societal ideals of beauty and physique.

In its desperate attempts to appear plump, the bird not only fails to achieve its desired outcome but also loses sight of its unique qualities, ultimately transforming into something unrecognizable—a "birdger."

The relentless pursuit of an aesthetic ideal can lead to dissatisfaction, self-esteem issues, and a disconnection from one's authentic self. It highlights the importance of self-acceptance and the recognition of individual beauty that lies beyond societal norms. Embracing our natural appearance fosters self-love, confidence, and a healthier relationship with ourselves and our bodies. It's a reminder that true beauty emanates from within and that embracing our innate characteristics is not only an act of self-love but also a rebellion against the unrealistic standards imposed by society.
